Welcome to Steel City Comedy Club

Steel City Comedy Club is Sheffield's newest and only dedicated comedy venue, offering a fresh and intimate space for comedy lovers. Located beneath the recently reopened Wig and Pen on Campo Lane, between the cathedral and Paradise square, we host a variety of comedy events almost every night of the week, making us the go-to spot for entertainment in the city.

For aspiring and seasoned performers alike, we offer "show up and go up" nights—an open stage for anyone who wants to perform, whether you're a new act or a pro testing fresh material. No matter your level of experience, if you're here and ready, you'll get stage time.

Our club also hosts a range of unique events, including comedy quizzes, alternative comedy nights, improv shows, writers' and performers sessions, and the popular semi-pro night, The Three Puns—a show that previously called The Three Tuns  home. All of these events are either free entry or operate on a "Pay as you feel" basis, making comedy accessible to everyone.

Every Friday night, we present our professional comedy night, showcasing a blend of top-tier acts from the comedy circuit alongside emerging talents on the verge of making it big. It’s the perfect mix of proven performers and up-and-coming stars.

In collaboration with The Beaten Track bar at the Wig and Pen, we’re excited to soon offer a “Date Night” package, featuring comedy, cocktails, and pizza—a recipe for a perfect night of fun, food, and laughter all under one roof.
